Bill Torvund
The Sanctuary of the On was founded as a religious non-profit organization in February, 1980 in Portland, Oregon.
Bill Torvund began his healing ministry as a very young child, and had the grace of encountering his spiritual master, Babaji Mahamuni Nagaraj, when he was four years old.
While running down a hill, Bill noticed a robed person sitting under a tree in his back yard, and had the wonderful opportunity to make contact with his spiritual master, Babaji, as he appeared to him and spoke with him about his future and spiritual work.
Then, in 1980, Bill was directed by his master to form a spiritual organization, The Sanctuary of the On, to begin his healing ministry and teaching.
Sanctuary of the ON
The name of the organization derives from the Vedic and Aramaic initiatic traditions. When the Ascended Master Christ-Sananda went to India after his Passion in Jerusalem and was received by the great teachers of the Vedic tradition in Varanasi, he was instructed in the tantric traditions that date back thousands of years before his time.
He was instructed in the many sacred uses of the universal sound of "OM" by the renowned immortal master Babaji Mahamuni Nagaraja, who by that time was over two hundred years old, who made the pilgrimage to meet him from south India.
Babaji also took him on several pilgrimages through northern India and Nepal, and even as far as Tibet, where he was given further tantric initiation. On some of his pilgrimages, his beloved apostle John and his mother Mary also went with him.
His apostle John also was exposed to much of these teachings, and some of his scriptures in the synoptic Gospel of John are paraphrases from the Vedic upanishads. Some of the quotations of Christ in the Book of John are also aphorisms that he derived from his study of the Vedic traditions, principally from the Bhagavad Gita, and others that were later placed into the Patanjali Yoga Sutra.
Although Master Christ-Sananda never returned to Palestine but instead remained the rest of his life in Kashmir, many of his disciples and other devotees came to visit him there, and returned to Palestine and its neighboring areas with some of the most precious of his initiatic knowledge.
From the sacred sound of "OM" from the Vedic tradition, the Judaea-Christian Messianic tradition formed the term "O - ON" that can be seen on virtually all the icons of Christ in the Eastern apostolic tradition.
The term "O -ON" is the present-participial form of the Greek verb "to be", which, in its mystical sense, means "the eternally existing One." This is an exact reflection of the Vedic term "OM", which also bestows universal and immortal Presence upon all of those who intone it with the sincerity, humility, and attuning grace of divine love.
Therefore, the sacred mantra of Christ in the Judaea-Christian tradition, "O-ON", is the perfect reflection of the Vedic universal mantra of "OM", in that both express ultimate sacred, universal light and Presence, so that all sentient beings can express the affirmation, as Christ-Sananda did in the ancient times, "I AM THE LIGHT OF THE UNIVERSE."
That affirmation, then, is the ultimate meaning of the "OM", brought into the later Judaea-Christian Messianic tradition as "O-ON."
In a mystical vision, Ascended Master Christ-Sananda appeared to Bill and, over a series of several weeks, showed him the profound meaning of the sacred mahamantra "OM" and how it is formed using advanced tantric techniques into the sound of the soul-nature embodied in the mantric chant "ON."
Thus, Bill chose the name "Sanctuary of the On," which in the Vedic tradition would be called "Satpurusha Dham," which could incorporate the synthesis of both sacred and initiatic traditions of the Eastern and Western mystery schools.
Since then, he has performed over a million healings on thousands of people from all over the world, and has travelled extensively and lectured on all aspects of spiritual tradition.
Bill first came into this realm of universal existence over four hundred million years ago from a realm of primordial light not yet discovered by cosmological astroscience.
As an inter-dimensional being, he saw the formation of the Earth and observed the divine beings that were migrating to this region of the universe, and saw the opportunity to assist in the revealment and manifestation of the Divine Plan that has existed for literally billions of years.
Bill did not actually take on an incarnate existence until about twenty million years ago when he migrated here from the star-system of Sirius and took up residence in the region of Shambhala, where he assisted the masters of the spiritual traditions now known of as the Shiva mahatamas, to bring forth the Vedic traditions that were formed into the earliest sacred texts called the "Puranas."
From his residence in the region of Shambhala, Bill gave instruction to the initiates of that time and up to the present time about the mastery of inter-dimensional travel and attunement to Source-consciousness. It was during his lifetime in Shambhala millions of years ago that he made contact with the great Mahatma that would later call himself Babaji, and forged a spiritual alliance with him that lasts to this day.
From Shambhala, Bill incarnated into the spiritual communities of Lemuria, Atlantis, Egypt, India, and Tibet. He was also in Palestine during the lifetime of the Master Christ-Sananda and went with him on his pilgrimages into India, Nepal and Tibet.
It was there that Bill re-connected with Babaji, and he has had an on-going personal relationship with him uninterruptedly ever since.
Under the Mahavatar Babaji Mahamuni's guidance, Bill has been guided to revive and restore to the consciousness of the world several secret tantric traditions and transformational alchemical sciences that will assist in the re-awakening of Source awareness.
